Mena has twenty-four hour police and fire protection (Class IV), with fourteen police officers, an animal control officer, three full-time fire fighters with 18 volunteers, and a combined building inspector/code enforcement office with two employees. It has state of the art water and sewer facilities and a street system which is 98% paved.
